20 Miles and 3 Games

This morning I was up at 4:40. The kids were at my folks and I was getting ready to go get a friend and head to Busse Woods for the 20 miler. The run went well! Weather was gorgeous and I was able to hold a steady pace and pick it up the last 5 miles. I am feeling more encouraged after the last couple of weeks despite the fact that my training as a whole has been pretty poor with my injury. When that was done, I headed straight to LITH to pick up the kids. Anna scored today! We popped in the house so I could rinse all the salt off myself and quickly headed to Hudson's flag football. We met some friends there as well who were going to help me pull off the conflicting game schedules. Then, just as his game started I had to jet to David and Johnny's game up in Huntley. (At this point, I still had not eaten and would get dizzy every time I tried to stand up quickly.) David had a great shot on goal which when he missed, he still attacked it and got another shot. It's going to work for him soon. He had the assist on the only goal for their team and hustled the entire time. Johnny had some good runs out there too, at one point he got the wind knocked out of him. I got a text that Hudson scored a touchdown from our friends. After the games, we were starved and went out to a little Mexican restaurant. I am totally wiped out. Good day. Adam just needs to get a deer tonight.

The Viola is Here and Other News

My computer has been at the shop. I was having to haul it up and down the stairs almost daily to get it to start and it became an emergency. I am happy to be back at my seat reporting life’s details.

I have been busy doing graphics work which has been lovely. I have discovered audio books and that has also been lovely.

The kids have all started their sports seasons. We had the first saturday of juggling game schedules last week. They all did great and I was cheering freakishly. David scored. Upon our return, there was an incredibly sad scene on the front lawn—a hawk was feasting on our favorite chicken, Buttercup, right there on the grass, feathers everywhere.

Other news:
Adam made 20 jars of salsa
Another melon has been growing in the garden
25 new meat birds arrived yesterday
New plates on the van and a horrible new driver’s license picture
The van door has been fixed
Anna made student council
Marathon training is back on—20 miles tomorrow
Adam is bow hunting opening weekend
I finally got the kids art pictures hung up in the hall
Anna’s viola came home with her from school today
